Cinnafilm is headquartered in Albuquerque, NM, amongst powerful resources such as the Nation’s defense laboratories and New Mexico's highly competitive film tax incentives. Cinnafilm's flagship product, Dark Energy™, sold as ARRI Relativity, wraps all of Cinnafilm's main technical abilities into one affordable platform: cadence correction, unlimited format/standards conversion, motion-compensated deinterlacing and retiming solutions, and high-end film simulation to name a few.

Founded in 2003, Cinnafilm remained a low-profile but highly technical company for many years, focusing on creating the very best solutions for image processing. In late 2008, Cinnafilm teamed up with Digital Film Central out of Vancouver to massage its product for the Digital Intermediate, and to further develop advanced noise reduction techniques.

Lance Maurer is the founder, president, and CEO of Cinnafilm, Inc. – a company that is changing the landscape of video processing through innovative and affordable parallel-processing solutions. A true innovator, he couples a formidable spacecraft engineering background with the artistic edge of an independent filmmaker to bring cutting edge concepts into practical reality.

During his experience as a part-time filmmaker, Maurer discovered a wide gap in the technical abilities of the more affordable, though slow and cumbersome, video production equipment and the expensive, yet high quality, performance of film cameras. In 2003, he founded Cinnafilm to close this gap, and assembled a high performance team dedicated solely to developing new technologies to bring video and film to even playing fields.
